Sky News personnel appear in court

Three people reportedly employed by Sky News were arrested on 23 May 2008 by police in Esigodini in Matabeleland South after being found in possession of broadcasting equipment that allegedly belongs to television network, Sky News.

Bennet Hassen Sono, Resemate Chauke and Simon Maodi  
appeared at the Bulawayo Magistrates Court on 29 May 2008 on charges of contravening provisions of the Post and Telecommunications Act, The Zimbabwe Independent reports.
 
The trio are being jointly charged with a Bulawayo resident, Craig Mark Ram Edy at whose house the equipment was allegedly found.
 
Sky News, BBC and CNN are among some of the foreign news organisations banned from reporting in Zimbabwe.
